Sailing School
Theory
Basic knowledge from the fields of aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, meteorology, navigation, sailing technique, sailing tactics, maritime skills, selection of anchorages and voyage planning.
Practical Training
Practical training of sailing is divided into three parts:
- Sailing with small sailing boats, with no engine, where you get the feel of the effect of the wind on the sail. (16 hours)
- Sailing with 8,5 m sailing boats, specially equipped for the sailing school with a built-in engine. With these sailboats you can learn all manoeuvres, get to know the technique of sailing upwind, with the wind, polkrmnim vetrom and with side-wind.
- You also learn how to sail with a spinnaker. We cook and sleep on the sailing boats.
Location: Portorož Marina, bay of Piran, Slovenian sea. (Two 3-day weekends) - sailing voyage with a 13 m sailing boat equipped for long cruising.
This course is performed
during the trip from Portorož to Kornats and back. We strengthen the skills learned so far and improve the sailing technique.
We work with roll-up sails and a gennaker. We learn how to plan voyages, sail with shifts for 24 hours, face the problems of sailing at night and how to get by with little space. (One week or an extended weekend)
